COURSE DESCRIPTION – French as a Foreign Language Program, Spring Semester
The French as a Foreign Language course consists of 16 class-hours of French per week and is designed to help students develop their key skills in French conversation, French listening comprehension, reading comprehension and writing. From level B1 (intermediate French) onwards, the programs of study include a choice of classes including French for Specific Purposes (French for Business, French for Tourism) French and Francophone Culture (civilization, media, literature, theatre, song, art, cinema, etc.) All levels of French language are offered, from beginner French to advanced French. The French language levels are A1 (Beginner), A2 (Pre-Intermediate), B1 (Intermediate), B2 (Advanced), C1 (Advanced High).

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Open enrollment, anybody can participate. The French as a Foreign Language program at the Universite Bordeaux Montaigne is open to teens, students, and adults. You do not have to be a college student to enroll in this French program. You do not have to participate in a US university study abroad program to enroll in this French program. Minimum age 18.
You will have to provide the copy of your ID, the copy of your secondary bachelor or of your diploma from university and its sworn translation in French. You will be duly registered the day of your administrative registration, when you will receive your certificate of school attendance.
ABOUT
The DEFLE department is the Department of French as a Foreign Language. The team of administration and teaching staff is at your service, and will help and guide you throughout your time with us. You will enjoy the choice of a varied range of language and culture courses. These classes are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and are outward looking towards other French-speaking countries. You will learn French with teachers who are all specialists in teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE), and who base their teaching on the most recent discussions in education and didactics. You will have the opportunity to participate in artistic workshops and showcase your creative talents.

Housing: The DEFLE department offers accommodation possibilities that are reserved solely for foreign students (excluding exchange students). These possibilities include both public sector accommodation in university residences, and private sector accommodation in host families. This accommodation is only offered to the students over the age of majority and enrolled for the first time in day classes and/or summer classes.In order to facilitate the search for accommodation, the University provides students and landlords with its online accommodation platform. In partnership with Studapart, the platform centralises offers from private individuals, estate agencies and private student residences around the campus.
