Program Description

If you want to study Spanish in Granada, the Spanish Language and Culture Course is aimed at students and professionals who wish to acquire a wider knowledge of Spanish whilst learning about some of the main features of Spanish history and culture.

Courses are offered in Spanish language, Literature, Geography, History, Art History, Culture, and Economics.

The academic year course is consists of two semester – October to December (Fall) and from February to May (Spring) and consists of a total of 450 hours over the course of the year.

Extra-curricular activities, cultural visits and cultural activities are also available.

Program Cost

The fee includes tution for the academic year (2 semesters) and the registration fee.

Housing – € 250 / [currency amount=”250″ from=”EUR” to=”USD” show_from=false round=false] per mo.

You can expect to pay approximately € 250/mo. for a room in a shared student apartment.

Homestays cost €818 / [currency amount=”818″ from=”EUR” to=”USD” show_from=false round=false] per month.

Program Structure

A 450-hour Spanish language course divided into 2 semesters.

The Spanish language and Culture Course made up of 2 language and 3 culture subjects to be chosen from the course offerings. Students wishing to take culture classes in Spanish must have passed Intermediate Spanish (B1.1). Students with a lower level can take subjects in English.

Each subject in the Spanish Language and Culture Course has 45 teaching hours and a regular weekly timetable in line with the general schedule programmed by CLM.

Housing / Accommodation

Apartments and rooms in shared houses

This option is managed directly by a third party company called Aluni. CLM has a collaboration agreement with them that allows you to get a 20% discount in the handling fee of the rental contract. Please fill out this form requesting a supporting document which you need to present to receive the discount.

Accommodation with families

This type of accommodation includes breakfast, lunch and dinner (full board) and laundry once a week. Students can have either a single or double room.

A stay longer than 15 days is paid per month.

Student Residences

These are commercial establishments which provide accommodation to both national and foreign students. The minimum stay is a complete academic year (October-June) except in summer when reservations can be made for days or months.

Eligibility / How to Enroll

To register, visit the registration page and fill out the registration form for the program you are interested in. Then send in the registration form by email or fax, along with proof of payment (as instructed in the registration form).

There is no minimum required GPA. Recommendation letters are not required. The minimum age for enrollment is 16.

Students must already have a high command of Spanish to be able to follow these subjects (i.e. have passed level B2.1 (Advanced)).(See specifications of level test). For this reason, CLM always recommends that students to take an Intensive Spanish Language Course (CILE) before beginning the Hispanic Studies Course.
