The Hispanic Studies Spanish program is designed to meet the needs of both Spanish majors and other students that want to learn Spanish in Spain and have a strong interest in Spain and Latin America. It is an excellent program for those students who want to learn and improve Spanish, while at the same time learning about Spanish culture in greater depth.
Students take 12-15 credit hours per semester and can study in Seville for a semester or a full year.

The tuition fee is for the entire semester.
Hispanic Studies Program includes:

• Orientation Session & Welcome Reception

The housing fee covers the cost of housing in a Spanish homestay for the semester. If you opt for a shared student apartment you can expect to pay approximately €270 / [currency amount=”270″ from=”EUR” to=”USD” show_from=false round=false] per mo.
The Hispanic Studies Program offers semester-long courses taught both in Spanish and in English in areas such as art, business, economics, history, political science and many others. Spanish language courses are offered at six levels and include classes such as business Spanish, conversation, phonetics, reading & composition and translation. The program also offers courses in English in biology and chemistry (with a lab component) as well as in psychology and medical anthropology.
Spanish language classes have a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 16 students per class. All other classes have a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 24 students per class. Classes are held Monday through Thursday with an occasional activity on a Friday. Transcripts are issued by Pablo de Olavide University.
Students can take up to 5 classes which corresponds to 30 ECTS credits (15 US credits)
Students who score at the Advanced II level on their Spanish Placement Exam may enroll in up to two regular university courses. If the courses with the Spanish students are conducted in English, this language requirement is waived. Spanish Classes, Spanish Electives, and Other Classes
The Hispanic Studies Course at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide are divided into several modules, including (1) Spanish Language, Spanish (2)Literature, (3) the History and Geography of Spain, (4) Spanish Art History, (5) Sociology, Law, Communication and Political Science, and (6) Business Administration and Economics.
Housing / Accommodation
The International center offers lodging with Spanish host families with full board. The Center feels that this is the best way to learn about Spanish culture and traditions and practice and improve language skills. All the families have been carefully chosen and will do their best to make you feel at home and enjoy your stay. If you are a vegetarian, have food or pet allergies or have any special requirements, it is important that you advise us beforehand. We will do everything in our power to meet your needs.
