The University of Barcelona’s Institute of Hispanic Studies offers courses in Spanish as a foreign language from beginner to advanced levels.
Spanish language and culture courses take place throughout the academic year on an annual, four-monthly, two-monthly or monthly basis. Summer courses run for two weeks, a month or two months.
The Institute also organizes and teaches Spanish courses for students from foreign universities who are studying at the University of Barcelona on study abroad programs.

The fee covers the tuition for the month long Spanish course.
Housing – Cost varies.
Shared student apartments cost approximately $300 per month. University residence halls cost between $500 and $800 per month.
Spanish Intensive Language Course at the University of Barcelona. 80 Spanish classes per month.
After taking a Spanish level exam, students are placed in a Spanish course that corresponds to their level of Spanish. There is no final exam given. Students that meet minimum attendance requirements have to right to recevie a course certificate confirming their level and the number of credits obtained.
Students can, however, opt to take a final exam for an extra fee (62€).

There is no minimum required GPA. Recommendation letters are not required. The minimum age for enrollment is 18.
