Program Description

Tthe Hispanic Studies Course is aimed at students and professionals who wish to acquire a deeper knowledge of Spanish language and culture. This course offers a wide variety of subjects taught by specialists from the University of Granada.

The CEH Course is taught in two periods – from October to December (Fall) and from February to May (Spring). Students can choose the first period, the second period or both (the Complete Hispanic Studies Course).

Program Cost

Tution – € 1,721 / [currency amount=”1721″ from=”EUR” to=”USD” show_from=false round=false] per semester.

The fee includes tution for the semester and the registration fee.

Housing – € 250 / [currency amount=”250″ from=”EUR” to=”USD” show_from=false round=false] per mo.

You can expect to pay approximately € 250/mo. for a room in a shared student apartment.

Homestays cost €818 per month.

Program Structure

A 225-hour Spanish language and culture course involving one mandatory language subject and 4 optional ones to be chosen from the course offerings. Students need to have passed Advanced Spanish (B2.1). The Hispanic Studies Course (Curso de Estudios Hispanicos – CEH) is offered twice a year: in the Fall and Spring semesters.

Students in this course can choose four or five subjects offered by University of Granada’s “Centro de Lenguas Modernas” (CLM) for each period. One of the subjects can be a Modern Language Course offered by CLM.

Housing / Accommodation

Apartments and rooms in shared houses

This option is managed directly by a third party company called Aluni. CLM has a collaboration agreement with them that allows you to get a 20% discount in the handling fee of the rental contract. Please fill out this form requesting a supporting document which you need to present to receive the discount.

Accommodation with families

This type of accommodation includes breakfast, lunch and dinner (full board) and laundry once a week. Students can have either a single or double room.

A stay longer than 15 days is paid per month.

Student Residences

These are commercial establishments which provide accommodation to both national and foreign students. The minimum stay is a complete academic year (October-June) except in summer when reservations can be made for days or months.

Eligibility / How to Enroll

To register, visit the registration page and fill out the registration form for the program you are interested in. Then send in the registration form by email or fax, along with proof of payment (as instructed in the registration form).

There is no minimum required GPA. Recommendation letters are not required. The minimum age for enrollment is 16.

Students must already have a high command of Spanish to be able to follow these subjects (i.e. have passed level B2.1 (Advanced)).(See specifications of level test). For this reason, CLM always recommends that students to take an Intensive Spanish Language Course (CILE) before beginning the Hispanic Studies Course.
