You do not have to be a college student to enroll in this Spanish program. You do not have to participate in a US university study abroad program to enroll in this Spanish program. Minimum age 18.

COURSE DESCRIPTION – Spanish Language and Culture, Summer Courses

If you want to make the most of the summer to learn Spanish, these Spanish summer courses give you the opportunity to do so in a university environment. The Spanish lessons offer you the chance to practice Spanish grammar, Spanish comprehension, Spanish oral expression and interaction, as well as Spanish reading and writing. The syllabus also includes lessons on Spanish culture in which you can get to know the various aspects of Spanish society as well as its customs and traditions. An orientation session is scheduled on the first day of the course, which includes a guided tour of the city. You can also supplement your learning by taking part in optional socio-cultural activities and by going the trips we organized throughout the course.

Each month long Spanish summer course lasts for 4 weeks. The Spanish classes take place mornings, Monday through Friday. Participants in the Spanish program take 4 Spanish classes per day, completing 20 Spanish classes per week for a total of 80 Spanish classes per month. The summer Spanish courses are offered on all levels, from beginner Spanish to advanced Spanish.  (A1 (Beginner), A2 (Pre-Intermediate), B1 (Intermediate), B2 (Advanced), C1 (Advanced High)).

Students can take a single month long Spanish course or can take all three month long Spanish courses if they wish.

ABOUT

The Spanish courses for foreigners at the University of Valladolid have been taught continuously for more than 65 years. Nowadays, Spanish lessons take place at the University Language Center, located on the Miguel campus, in a safe an easily accessible area providing an ideal setting for learning and practicing Spanish. The Language Center was opened in 1996 and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology in language learning: white digital boards and audiovisual equipment in its 22 classes. The Center also has a meeting room for students and a library with free-access computers and free Wi-Fi.

Our programs combine language teaching with complementary activities and trips, which help students to become immersed in the language and culture of Spain. International students are in constant close contact with Spanish students who come to the Language Center to study other languages. One of our main priorities is to foster language interaction. Students enrolled are issued with a student card which provides them with access to libraries and other University of Valladolid services.

Housing: The University of Valladolid Language Center offers a wide range of accommodation for students enrolled on its courses. Choose the one which best suits your needs. If you request shared accommodation, we will try to find you a flatmate using the following criteria: Likes, preferences and/or special needs mentioned in the application. Similar ages. Age ranges: from 18 to 25 years old, 25 to 30, 31 to 40, over 40. Availability of accommodation can only be guaranteed during the study program period.

HOW TO ENROLL

Registration for this Spanish program is an open enrollment format. There is no minimum required GPA. Recommendation letters are not required. The minimum age for enrollment is 18. Once you have chosen your course, you must complete the online form in the section REGISTRATION. This form consists of several sections and some of the fields are mandatory. Among the topics are those related to the course (to choose level, dates and duration), housing (family or apartment and dates), personal information (personal data) and the form of payment (credit card or transfer).

Once completed, the system will automatically send an email to the student with all the information.
