COURSE DESCRIPTION – French Studies Diploma Course, Fall Semester

The Diploma in French Studies Course offered by the University of Pau is an intensive French language and culture course consisting of approximately 215 class-hours of French over the course. Participants have 18 class-hours of French per week and cover French conversation, French written expression, French reading and listening comprehension and French grammar. Participants will also be exposed to French art, French history, and subjects pertaining to the region in which Pau is located. There are 15 to 18 participants per class. The course is offered for students of all levels of French, from beginner French to advanced French. The levels offered are A1 (Beginner), A2 (Pre-Intermediate), B1 (Intermediate), B2 (Advanced), C1 (Advanced High).

The course content is designed specifically for international students and is based on the most up-to-date methods. The university is equipped with language laboratories, multimedia room, TV and video facilities, video projectors, additional online activities and resources, etc.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Open enrollment, anybody can participate. The Diploma of French Studies program at the Universite de Pau is open to teens, students, and adults. You do not have to be a college student to enroll in this French program. You do not have to participate in a US university study abroad program to enroll in this French program. Minimum age 18.

ABOUT

A service within the Universite de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) offering language classes to an average of 500 students each year. Students can enroll for between 3 and 9 months. We offer shorter, intensive language courses as well as long term and in-depth language programs to accompany students throughout their studies at UPPA. The I.E.F.E provides a multicultural environment for the study of French language, with students coming from a wide variety of nationalities. The I.E.F.E. is a recognized University Institute (soon to be awarded the French as a Foreign Language Quality certification by the French government), situated within a pleasant campus in the small, yet lively city of Pau.

The center has more than 40 years experience in offering French language and civilization courses within the University. Students can take advantage of university services including libraries, the possibility of attending classes within other faculties as an unregistered student (auditor), sporting activities, Cultural Centre, Medical Centre, etc.

DowNload the enrolment form from Universite de Pau website. Fill out the form and sign it.
Send the form to the IEFE with the required documents: a copy of your previous diploma(s), photo, and either a French cheque of proof of electronic transfer for the  amount corresponding to administration fees and a deposit on course fees.
